Open Networking on Wednesday 3rd February

As part of my overall marketing strategy for my business, I attend bi-weekly meetings through Business for Breakfast (www.bforb.com), where I meet up with like-minded business people (mostly owners, no banks or gangs of solicitors!) to grow ongoing relationships.

This format, which is best described as a more relaxed version of the BNI concept, has proven to be highly profitable for my business and I have met some great business people to boot! I find that such networks are great not only for sales but for my own personal development.

So, with this in mind, could the same format be an opportunity for your business?

To give you the chance to try it out, we are having an Open Networking Meeting on Wednesday 3rd February.

So as not to interrupt your working day, we kick things off at 6.45am (gulp!) until 8.30am. The meeting will be held at the Beauchief Hotel, Sheffield (www.beauchief-hotel.co.uk) and it costs £10 to attend. Cooked breakfast and TONS of coffee included!

The least you'll get out of it is a few new contacts. But you might also discover a networking concept that works for your business.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not on commission but I know these formats work best the more people that attend and I'd like to see my group expand and become even more successful!

So, if you're interested in attending then email me on sarah.simpkins@printing.com and I'll book you a place. Please don't just turn up or else you may not get a place!

I look forward to hearing from you and if you know anyone else interested in attending, please pass on this notice!

Look forward to seeing you soon,
Sarah

We love to design.... A 'Capital' Achievement

We get involved with lots of exciting design projects but by far the most rewarding in recent months is our project with Derwent Capital Markets (www.derwentcapitalmarkets.com).

Based in London, Derwent specialises in the UK equity derivatives market. Our client, Paul Hawtin, approached us to design a concept for a Presentation Folder, Inserts and Stationery.

With the goal of attracting and impressing the larger clients that Derwent wish to work with, they wanted the best that money could buy and an image that would portray the experience, professionalism and quality of Derwent's offering. And we didn't disappoint.

We have created a slick, clean and understated design which is typographically strong and makes full use of high impact 'StarMarque' (or Spot UV, for those in the know) as an added design feature. The eye can't fail to be drawn and the materials used are tactile to the user.

During my last conversation with Paul, he told me that his clients were proactively commenting on the standard of his collateral and I have no doubt that when you're holding a meeting with your next big client, the confidence that such comments can give you should not be underestimated.

So, what did Paul have to say about working with the Sheffield printing.com design team? Read on....

If you'd like to view the whole range of work we produced for Paul, simply click on the images below to see the proofs (and be mindful that the bright yellow indicates where we put the glossy highlights).

We're looking forward to the next stage of re-vamping Paul's website and we've entered Derwent Capital's designs into our Annual Design Awards so watch this space for results....

If your own marketing range could do with a re-vamp, why not book a consultation to discuss the possibilities? And remember, design is an investment - not a cost.

New addition to the printing.com team!

Having fired Harry the Office Hound for bad behaviour we finally decided that we could benefit from another team member to help us with our expansion plans for 2010.

Ashley Corrigan joins us as Design Executive and will be supporting Oliver, our Senior Designer, in delivering the fabulous design service which has seen us winning awards year in, year out!

Ashley adds: "I'm thrilled to be launching my career with printing.com! I'm extremely passionate about design and I'm excited about the prospect of applying what I've learnt during my degree. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of our clients over the coming months!"

We're chuffed to have Ashley on board and we hope you'll join us in wishing her the best of luck in her new role with us... and no jokes about her needing it!
